About Us

As a young boy growing up in suburban Northern New Jersey, I'd collect fossils from the open cleared fields of weathered rocks-dropped off by retreating Pleistocene glaciers. Thus began a lifetime fascination with fossils and paleontology. Over the years I have collected in over 20 American states and provinces of Canada.

The internet has opened up for me a new frontier of discovery. Less than two years ago, I started "Richie's Rocks," a paleo-trading site. Through this vehicle I have made many new acquaintances, and have expanded a parochial collection to a world wide one.

Eventually, I started Pangaea Fossils, a composite of specialty fossil collections by individuals with extensive backgrounds in geology and paleontology.

Rounding out the Pangaea staff are Craig and Kristen, the web-masters responsible for this clear, concise and comprehensive visualization. I hope you will agree that they have put together an informative and pleasing site.
